In Memory of Lucy Saladino - VCU Causes/Fundraiser - Daughter of VCU Professor Chris Saladino (Wilder School)
Facebook Event Information - Lucy Saladino
To Wilder School grads, students, and friends:
Lucy Elizabeth Saladino, the daughter of a beloved teacher, mentor, and friend, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 due to complications from her life-long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
Professor Saladino (or just Dino or Salad to some) has fought alongside his daughter and we are truly heartbroken for him and his family.
In memory of Lucy, who Professor Saladino described as "17, sweet, beautiful, feisty, and everything I ever wanted in a daughter," we urge you to make a contribution to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Lucy Saladino Scholarship Foundation.
You can make a contribution in Lucy's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at the following website:
https://www.cff.org/GetInvolved/ManyWaysToGive/Donate/
by selecting the in honor/memory of option in the "Type of Donation" field.
If you would like to donate to the Lucy Saladino Scholarship Fund, please send checks to:
Lucy Saladino Memorial Scholarship
c/o Godwin High School
2101 Pump Road
Richmond, Virginia 23238
Saladino has made an enormous impact on many of our lives, and this is the least we can do to show our appreciation and support in this time of tremendous grief for his family.
Since many of us are still in college or have recently graduated, any contribution at all to the CF Foundation or the Scholarship Fund would be greatly appreciated. If 20 of us donate $25 each, that's an easy $500. If each of us shares this link with a few more classmates, we can make an even bigger impact. (See 'Invite More People' tab to the right)
Saladino can be contacted by mail at the address below or by e-mail at cjsaladino@vcu.edu
