1. Volunteers Needed: VCU Food Drive Benefiting Central Virginia Food Bank
More than 600,000 Virginians are “food insecure.” It is estimated that the economic downturn has increased these levels by 30 percent, while food banks are experiencing a shortage in donations. VCU Business Services needs volunteers for the semiannual VCU Food Drive April 14-16. An informational meeting for prospective volunteers will be held today, April 6, at 1 p.m. in Rodney’s on the first floor of Shafer Court Dining Center. Any volunteers unable to attend this meeting should contact Tamara Highsmith at tmhighsmith@vcu.edu .
