VCU Cloud Email - GMAIL or Microsoft
VCU Student E-mail is moving to the Cloud!
What does that mean?
VCU is moving to a cloud-based student email solution. The university is looking at two vendors: Google and Microsoft.
Why is VCU doing this?
For several reasons - students want an effective email system, they want more storage space, and they want to maintain their vcu.edu email accounts after graduation.
How does this affect my email?
It won't right away. @vcu.edu will still be used as the universal email address for all students. Options will be available for migrating mail from your existing VCU Mail Anywhere account into your new cloud-based account.
How will VCU decide?
A group of faculty and staff are reviewing the two systems and will make a recommendation.
Will there be student input?
YES! Technology Services has already met with the Monroe Park SGA Senate. We would also like to hear from you.
Please review the two options:
* Microsoft Outlook Live
* Google Gmail and Calendar
