Wow - been an exciting couple of weeks around campus, eh?

In between making a bajillion videos and chatting with boku students, I've been:

1) Posting updates and info in the vcusga forums
2) Speaking with the CT for various stories - election coverage, constitution, etc.
3) Encouraging students to get out and vote/participate w/ SGA events
4) SMC information - we have some meetings coming up over the next few weeks - I'll update once we conclude the meetings
5) Conducted a poll on the MyVCU portal (per Roberto) regarding recycling on campus - the end result is that we should have more recycling bins on and around campus to increase student awareness and usage of recycling.

1) Lots of forum posts, threads, and updates
2) Boku video work - results will be flying around on Facebook and Youtube with any luck...
3) SGA Student Parking Problems Video - took me awhile to finally settle on how I wanted to pull it off, but I like the end result. HD version will be on youtube sometime soon. In the interim, the compressed version will get the job done. =)
4) SMC Meetings - We approved the use of funds for the student media to cover the VCU Rams in the NCAA tournament - well worth the costs, I believe.

3) Began process of setting up technology survey with Kanwar - the survey was requested by Leah Fremouw and Seth Nowlin. I think it is best served by running from a link on the SGA Website.

SMC Meetings - bylaws, updates, etc. Will post the minutes once I find the appropriate thread to do so.

1) The football poll is generating lots of results on the MyVCU portal. While the overall numbers of participation drop for successive questions, hopefully by the time the poll is finished on 11-17 we'll have a generous number of participants. Upon completion of the poll I will be provided a breakdown of all the info for the responses. Currently, almost 8,000 people have voted in the polls and the idea of a VCU football team is supported by majority of respondents. The larger question (no surprise) is funding. Also, along with the results of the polls, there are a lot of user comments that are being collected and compiled from the survey. I am sure going through all of them will prove interesting.
2) Anthony Spain and I have had a some conversations regarding our next steps for the football team idea - this includes a possible survey of the alumni association as well as finding out if any feasibility studies have been done by VCU.
3) Sent additional information out for the VCU Book trading website and the Peer Mentors program.
4) Setting up a poll regarding the VCU SGA book trading website to run on the MyVCU portal - this should run after the football poll ends.
5) Posted various threads in the VCU SGA forums - internship info, Peer Mentors, programs on campus, etc. Feel free to add any thing of interest to these threads to help make use of the forums and spread the word.
6) I have continued to avoid being stabbed in the eye... thankfully. =)
7) Will send out info/updates about the art projects as the goods become available.
Updated the CT, WVCW, and University Edge with news and info - football, school song contest, etc.
9) Hail to the Redskins - time to handle business in D.C.
10) Finished Resistance: Fall of Man 2 for the PS3. Excellent game, though too bad it doesn't have a campaign co-op like the first one.

9) Attended the SMC meeting - main issue was the vote to approve the name change from "The Vine" to "The Ink Magazine." After a bit of debate and information presented by The Vine staff, the SMC approved the name change. *applause*

Yay for updates

-Attended SMC (Student Media Commission) Meeting - covered the possible transition of "The Vine" to a new title: "Ink" - this would reflect the legacy of the student publication "Reflections in Ink" which later became "The Vine." We should be voting on the title change at the next SMC meeting. Also, checking to see if Brandon will be able to attend SMC meetings along with me in preparation for a possible transition after I graduate in December.
-Received information and updates regarding polling locations and maps from Leah - sending this out to our media partners
-Posted Democracy 101 information/flyers in the Broadcast Lab - sending this information out to our media partners
-Received information regarding the Bio Tour at VCU from Melissa - generating a press release and sending to our media partners to spread the word. Also received addition information regarding green programs which will be sent out as well for additional publicity.
-Dallas lost again - hopefully this trend will continue. WOO HOO!
-Pre-ordered Resistance 2 for the PS3. How convenient that it comes out on 11-4-08. I'll get to vote and then eradicate bad guys before going to class. If anyone here has a PS3 or Xbox 360, hit me up @ driverx77 (Live ID and PSN ID).

1) Spoke with Adam Causey about MyVCU portal questions and polls - how to submit, proper format, etc.

3) E-Mailed Anahita Sarshar (Senate Communications) regarding general communication, questions, and providing details for MyVCU Portal Poll. Also asked for her to gather any proposed questions/polls from the Senate so we could coordinate submission to MyVCU Portal

5) Met with Brandon regarding the "Run for Office" initiative - contacted both the CT and WVCW about partnering to spread the message about the elections, information sessions, etc.
